In Maryland, a prescription for Physical Therapy services is not a legal requirement.
As of January 1, 2015, all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and the US Virgin Islands allow patients to seek some level of treatment from a licensed physical therapist without a prescription or referral from a physician or other healthcare provider.
However, if you plan to use your health insurance to partially reimburse the cost of Yes! care, you need to check with your insurance company, because some insurers still require a prescription in order to reimburse you.
